The Opportunity

The Hades team is a central piece in the Nutanix system which manages the lifecycle of all the disks in the Nutanix Cluster. This team interfaces with a variety of teams in Nutanix to manage various aspects in relation to disks. The engineer will take responsibility for end to end feature development within the team and collaborating across, with a deep understanding of systems internals and distributed systems.

The CDP team was the first team created at Nutanix. One of the teams under CDP is the Hades team.

We are hiring for the Hades team within the CDP umbrella. The Hades team is the team which manages the lifecycle of disks in the Nutanix Cluster.

Your Role

• Design and develop reliable, efficient, high-performance software for large-scale enterprise and hybrid cloud.

• Develop an understanding of complex distributed systems and design innovative solutions for customer requirements.

• Work on performance, scaling out, and resiliency of distributed storage systems.

• Work alongside development, test, documentation, and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.

• Engage with customers and support when needed to solve production issues.

What You Will Bring

• Completion of a bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering field is required.

• Familiarity with OS internals, distributed systems, and good practices for design/implementation.

• Hungry and humble attitude with a keen sense of working as part of a dynamic team.

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Reason : Nutanix was the leading company in hyperconvergence storage system. The innovation, passion and the culture of the team inspired me to take up the role.

Biggest professional/Personal win : I lead the Hibernate/Resume feature on Nutanix Clusters (NC2) AWS to completion. This solutions is essentially taking the a whole nutanix cluster level snapshot to AWS s3. This feature continues to help our customers and internal testing clusters save massive costs on AWS spending on baremetal when the cluster is not in use.

Who we are hoping to find : We are in the lookout for someone who's dynamic, eager, passionate to drive things on their own and solve challenging problems. We are a team who are very open to ideas, critical discussions. We are looking for someone who is interested and has expertise in Python, Kernel, Filesystems, Storage domain.
