Savage Maintenance Mechanic in Beaumont, Texas

As the Maintenance Mechanic for Savage, you will be implementing and maintaining the Savage Maintenance Program and safely operating heavy machinery, such as forklifts at the Total, Port Arthur Refinery.

Here is what you will be doing
Must understand and implement the Savage Maintenance Program
Properly record and complete maintenance reports and service records
Maintain and report spare parts inventory
Complete PM services on plant and process equipment
Knowledge of rigging
Must be willing to perform any other special tasks assigned by management
Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations, i.e. maintenance, clean-up
Perform thorough pre and post-trip inspections on Coke handling equipment and yellow equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and conveyors
Expand personal knowledge of maintenance for conveyors, gearboxes, and bearings.
Repair maintenance issues
Understand our critical service requirements and see they are met
Take an active role in our safety program, including attendance at all safety meetings and ensuring safe behaviors
Requirements of a successful Maintenance Mechanic
Valid driver's license
Valid TWIC card (or ability to attain one)
2-3 years experience with conveyor systems and yellow equipment
Extensive experience in welding and fabrication
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Must have the ability to obtain crane certification (NCCER)
Here are some of the physical requirements of this role
Maintenance are routinely required to work outdoors and, as a result are exposed to the elements.
Physically able to handle large tools and equipment (50 lbs.),
Climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, comfortable with heights
