Job Summary

Aquarion Water Company is looking for a Funding Administrator & Analyst. This role is part of the Water Resources and Infrastructure Planning team and is responsible for coordinating the preparation of funding applications, loan agreements, disbursement requests, and compliance filings, administrative management of the funding program, analysis and reporting of capital financial data related to funding programs, and reporting and closeout of grants and other funding.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide administration for the funding process throughout CT, MA, and NH, including receiving, assessing, tracking disbursement requests; documenting all inquiries and/or proposals; assuring all documents meets the funding requirements and Company legal requirements; and maintaining accurate records of funding applications, awards, and payments received.

  • Responsible for reviewing funding opportunities and determining Company eligibility as requested.

  • Responsible for preparing applications, securing funding, and assisting in the management of approved funding.

  • Review funding agreements and track terms, conditions, schedules, and ensure compliance.

  • Ensure audits are completed.

  • Coordinate legal review of contracts and related documents.

  • Interacts with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure that the Company complies with funding requirements and guidelines.

  • Assist with investigating, researching, and analyzing legislation relating to federal, state, and local funding programs.

  • Prepare and maintain specialized department and company reports on funded and non-funded projects.

  • Prepare finance documents for review by the Manager, Water Resources and Infrastructure Planning.

  • Maintain and verify disbursement records, review invoices and record receipts.

  • Coordinate and work collaboratively with Engineering & Planning Department to ensure timely completion of funded projects.

  • Responsible for ensuring data integrity.

  • Assist with regulatory filings, including Rate Case Filings/Interrogatories.

  • Assist with year-end internal & external audits related to funding.

  • Assist in preparation, review & analysis of department KPI’s.

  • Assist with and provide support to Engineering & Planning Department administrative functions as required.

  • Responsible for creating, reviewing and analyzing complex reports and schedules for accuracy and consistency.

  • Must display and demonstrate an ability to work as an integral part of a team of peers, superiors, and subordinates on professional or non-professional levels.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with funding and regulatory programs.

  • Provide administrative, financial reporting, and other functions to overall Engineering & Planning Department as directed by the Manager, Water Resources and Infrastructure Planning.

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

  • Proficient SAP User with excellent knowledge of office business system software.

  • Advanced MS Office skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration, finance, accounting, or related field.

  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience in administration of utility work, grants, rate cases, or related field.

Salary

  • After 3 months of successful employment, this role will be eligible for a hybrid schedule (3 days office/2 days remote).

  • Job is classified as an exempt position with an annual salary range of $64,400 to $74,400.
