The position will plan and control all purchasing activities supporting assigned vendors. They will balance purchase and inventory levels with demand to support targets consistent with customer service levels, inventory turns goals and capacity utilization. This position exists to assist Sales, Marketing, Materials/Purchasing Management, Operations, Supply Chain and the Technical group in managing the product lifecycle process. This includes the introduction of new products to market, forecasting the quantity and timing of demand for current products and disposition of existing discontinued products. The position is responsible for continuously improving the accuracy of the forecasts of the demand for finished goods in order to improve customer satisfaction, sales, profitability and overall supply chain effectiveness. The position will develop feasible weekly bucketed purchasing schedules by sku to vendor and work to install and measure a compliance metric to measure performance. They will also coordinate toll filling requirements with plants, customer service and suppliers. This role will execute product life cycle management and lead Lean, Continuous Improvement Projects and Sales and Operational Planning reviews supporting assigned brands/customers. This role will analyze, develop, and test programs and user interfaces required for implementations or enhancements for our Supply Chain systems. They are responsible for troubleshooting any system issues and working with users to gather requirements for new functionality and model enhancements. FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's degree or 4 years experience Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain related field KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: 2-3 years experience in Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Manufacturing or Customer Service. Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
