Kelly Services Technical Trainer in Farmington, Connecticut

Kelly Services has partnered with a leading high tech manufacturing client to find a skilled Technical Trainer. In this role, you will be responsible for instructing and training customers and employees on the operation, maintenance, and programming of equipment.

This position will primarily focus on teaching the operation and troubleshooting of laser machines used for sheet metal cutting. As a Technical Trainer, you will conduct training sessions at the training center in Farmington, CT, factory in Chicago, and occasionally on customer sites throughout North America.

Salary as a Technical Trainer:

  • $33/hr - $40.34/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer locations in North America and other facilities (up to 50% travel) for training and research purposes

  • Conduct operator, programming, and maintenance training classes for personnel and customers on ICB Systems

  • Evaluate existing training procedures and manuals and collaborate with the Training Manager to implement improvements

  • Interface with technical writers and curricula developers to review and compile documentation and data

  • Support the implementation of Training 4.0 strategies, including webinars and virtual classrooms

  • Maintain records of training schedules and personnel trained

  • Provide evaluations of Customers and Service Engineers during training sessions

  • Gather feedback from students to evaluate and improve training courses

  • Participate in projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and SYNCHRO activities

Qualifications:

  • In-depth technical background, preferably with experience in CNC sheet metal machine tool products

  • Previous training and field service experience is strongly preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient in PC skills, including operating systems, networking, and Microsoft Office

  • 2-year technical school degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience
