North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Assistant Director Student Conduct in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description:

The Assistant Director of Student Conduct coordinates and oversees the administrative functions and education of student conduct in Housing and Residence Life including record keeping, student conduct hearings, scheduling, and enforcing policies.

Provides leadership in promoting an atmosphere within the residential community that supports academic achievement and fosters responsible decision-making.

Coordinates community and student development through social and educational programming.

Provides advice and counsel for individual students, student leaders, and student groups.

Participates in an on-call duty system.

Serves on departmental and campus-wide committees.

In addition, the position is responsible for professional and effective communication with students, parents, staff, faculty, and members of the campus community.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

The primary purpose of the Housing and Residence Life department is to provide housing accommodations and a certain quality of life for approximately 6,000 students.

To provide living accommodations which are clean, safe, healthy, and comfortable while enhancing a certain quality of life, which supports the academic mission of North Carolina A&T State University.

The Residence Life program is designed to provide an environment which supports students in their academic pursuits, encourages interpersonal development, and offers opportunities for individual growth and challenge.

To provide a quality of life for on campus students through a clean, safe, educational environment.

Responsible for the overall leadership and management of all residence halls, the assignments of rooms, occupancy status of halls, housekeeping needs, maintenance concerns, and budgets, including operating and programming.

Requirements:

A Master’s degree from a four-year college or university with two or more years of progressively responsible experience in residence life or higher education required.

Or

Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of supervisory experience and 2 or more years of relative experience.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to community and student development; possess excellent oral and written communication skills; have working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Google Drive; and be able to understand and operate all electronic assessments and applications used in student life.

Experience in Student Conduct Software a plus.

Must be on campus for staff training, opening and closing of the academic year and major department and University events

Preferred:

Masters degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration or related field; 3 – 4 years experience in Residence Life.
