Reports To: Plant Manager

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this position will manage production employees, plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Directly responsible for Shipping, Material Handling, Direct and Indirect Labor on UA’s production floor

• Oversees all work centers and monitors Foreman’s Reports, SOP’s, and Direct Labor Efficiencies

• Assists in monitoring job status, adjusts priorities as needed in conjunction with Production Control and provides feedback

• Provides communications for material staging information to Material Handlers and Shipping for upcoming shifts

• Able to run required reports to ensure timely completion of jobs

• Facilitates training of employees within the direct labor work centers in conjunction with UA Training staff

• Understands manufacturing software

• Attends daily Production meetings

• Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.

• Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.

• Management of operational performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager. This includes work center utilization, efficiency, quality and scrap. Assists management in identifying bottlenecks and recommends means for improving processes.

• Promotes safety culture and attends all required safety training sessions

• Promotes the organization’s quality policy by mentoring production workforce to ensure conformance of all quality specifications and adheres to ISO standards

• Offer continuous improvement ideas on a regular basis

• Understands, supports and adheres to UAI employee handbook policies

• Understands supports and adheres to UA Levels Program

• Ensures 95% OTD to UA Customers

• Consistently maintains a minimum 95% efficiency in all direct labor work centers

• Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL BRING OR WE'D LIKE TO SEE:

• Must have 5 years of related production leadership type experience

• Bachelor's degree in Operations or related field required

• Must perform all duties in conjunction with UAI and ISO requirements

• Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization

• Must possess superior coordination and scheduling skills

• Must be able to improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, and cost) and increase direct reports’

skills and capabilities

• Must be able to navigate in a Windows based computer environment
