Responsibilities You will operate a heavy vehicle in excess of 32,000 lbs., such as a tractor-trailer or truck and full trailer combinations in a safe manner. You will transport personnel or cargo on extended trips. You will utilize global positioning systems and road maps. You will load, unload, arrange, and secure cargo to prevent overloading and shifting in transit. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing minor repairs or adjustments on vehicles; 2) Maneuvering oversized vehicles in narrow, congested areas, through difficult metropolitan traffic, and high speed highways; and 3) Operating lighter vehicles such as: buses, dump trucks, carry-alls, platform trucks, stake trucks, and vans; Federal Wage System Qualifications (opm.gov) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
