The Manager, Continuous Improvement will be responsible for driving organizational excellence through the development and implementation of continuous improvement strategies and methodologies. Collaborate with various departments to identify areas for improvement, analyzing processes, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall performance. Establish, implement, and maintain performance improvement strategies in assigned program(s) including methods to monitor, measure, and assess performance; implement tools, techniques, and training as necessary.

This will allow you to divide your time between our collaborative office environment in La Crosse, WI and the comfort of your personal home workspace. The Impact You Will Make in This Role:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Provide overall leadership, development and implementation for the Corrective Action, Observation, Self-Assessment, Benchmarking, Human Performance and Causal Analysis programs.

  • Develop training programs to equip employees with the skills and knowledge needed to embrace and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinate, monitor, and administer corrective action programs including reviews, analysis, evaluation, trending, corrective action development, and reports to leadership.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective change management processes are in place for implementing improvements.

  • Interface with and provide expertise and guidance to the leadership team and various departments in performance improvement and causal analysis to ensure successful implementation of the program and ultimately driving excellence in performance.

  • Create and serve as chair/member of or coordinate the activities of the Condition Report Review Group (CRG) and the Corrective Action Review Board (CARB) / Performance Assessment Review Board (PARB).

  • Introduce best practices and industry benchmarks to drive operational excellence. Participate in industry peer groups to ensure performance improvement programs are at Industry Best Practice Level.

  • Provide guidance to the root cause analyst(s) and ensure timely completion of root causes.

  • Provide monthly corrective action performance indicator report for the different departments.

  • Create/Implement performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure process improvements.

  • Select, develop, mentor, and evaluate a quality staff that assists in the problem identification, resolution, analysis and risk mitigation.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Your Experience and Expertise:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field. Minimum of 5 years power plant experience along with 3 years of continuous/process improvement experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills :

  • Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and organize work activities to meet goals, objectives, and schedule constraints.

  • Ability to coordinate and execute performance improvement programs with minimal oversight from leadership.

  • Ability to communicate with external stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage several diverse tasks and interests concurrently.

  • Strong problem-solving ability, oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and develop professional and technical information.

  • Ability to maintain high work standards by establishing goals and standards of performance. This includes attention to detail and thoroughness in accomplishing a task.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exhibit leadership in anticipating and addressing evolving issues.

  • Must assume responsibility for continuously upgrading knowledge and skill through pursuit of relevant qualifications, technical training and/or post-secondary education.

Environmental Demands : Works indoors. Frequently works around computers, monitors, and electrical hazards. Field visits and human performance/safety observations of all generation sites, transmission work telecommunications field crews and any other directed activities.
