Position Overview The Genomic Analyst II will work within a team of clinical professionals to perform genomics knowledge mining and content derivation supporting PreventionGenetics\' variant interpretation database. The Genomic Analyst will collaborate and assist the Geneticists and Laboratory Directors to develop and maintain the variant interpretation database. This database management is essential to helping the Geneticists and Laboratory Directors create the clinical genomics report that is informative and clinically relevant for each patient. This position is field based/remote. The Genomic Analyst II may work fully on site at the PreventionGenetics office location in Marshfield, WI, fully remote, or a hybrid of on site or remote, as agreed upon with their direct supervisor. Remote employees may be required to travel to PreventionGenetics headquarters from time to time for training. Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following: Contributes to our variant interpretation database by identifying, interpreting, and documenting key findings from the literature to capture gene alterations associated with human genetic disease. Ability to apply ACMG interpretation guidelines for both sequence and copy number variants. Ability to analyze Next Generation Sequencing, Sanger, repeat expansion, and microarray data including confirming variant annotation for both simple and complex cases. Ability to critically review relevant literature including understanding of both genetic and experimental evidence to support variant classification. Contributes to developing and executing department goals including being able to lead projects independently. Collaborate with Geneticists,Laboratory Directors, and genomic analysts to refine content and structure reports. Able to train and/or mentor new genomic analyst staff. Strong documentation, attention-to-detail and procedure writing skills. Support and comply with the company\'s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
