What you'll do:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the efficient maintenance of the account payable process which entails receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports, as well as reconciling accounts.

This is a hybrid role that will 1 day/week in the Pittsburgh office. The rest of your work can be done remotely.

Your days will be filled with: Reconcile non-purchase order invoices, apply appropriate GL code, and have approved per approval policy. Perform three-way match of inventory Pos. Superuser for the incoming invoicing managing system (currently Medius). Prepare miscellaneous month-end journal entries. Reconcile accounts payable transactions and ensure the accuracy of financial data. Assist with month-end closing, including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and preparation and analysis of reports. Assist with audit preparations and support audit activities related to accounts payable. Answer incoming phone inquiries related to accounts payable matters. Process weekly check runs, wire transfers, and EFT/ACH payments for US and Canadian entities. Prepare yearly 1099s using online tax filing software (currently Tax1099) Maintain vendor files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in invoicing management. Work with Accounting Associate as needed on related accounts payable tasks. Perform various other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has: High school diploma 2 - 4 years of relevant work experience Experience preparing 1099s. Experience handling high volume incoming inventory and non-inventory AP invoices, 3-way match. Experience in both ERP systems and bank portals processing check runs, wires, and ACH payments.
