The role you’ll contribute:

As part of the Population Health Services Organization within AdventHealth, the Physician Outreach Representative will be the key network support person for in-network practices by establishing and maintaining strong relationships. PORs are expected to routinely verify information with practices, assist with claim escalation issues, add/remove providers based on practice rosters, monitor the credentialing/recredentialing process, answer questions about the network, payer contracts, claim codes, fee schedules or directories. The POR will be involved with ad hoc projects throughout the year such as annual payer record requests with sending reminders to practices.

This position is primarily a remote position yet may occasionally visit practices as needed. The POR is responsible for updating the CRM tool (Salesforce) regularly with practice staff updates or logging interactions (emails, calls, visits) with the practices. The Physician Outreach Representative will follow the department’s policies and procedures, engage in discussions regarding process improvement or workflow changes, and answer any inquiries from other internal departments.

  • Fully understands the provider and ancillary makeup of the provider network, and affiliated payer networks in order to provide relevant feedback and intel related to potential needs.

  • Responsible for maintaining and understanding assigned territories including market attributes, providers in the community, and other pertinent information.

  • Works seamlessly, effectively, and in harmony with all internal teams including, but not limited to, PHSO and/or affiliated payer networks/health plans credentialing, contracting, network development, quality and care integration, provider performance, and analytics to ensure integrated operations that result in a superior consumer experience for the provider.

  • Responsible for maintaining operational knowledge of EPIC or any similar business intelligence tools and assisting providers with understanding and utilization of such tools and engaging other resources/teams as needed.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • Moderate knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Experience with customer service and/or physician interactions with the healthcare industry

  • Knowledge of health plan/claims-related processes (Clinical Procedural (CPT) coding knowledge a plus)

  • An understanding of health plan operations and network quality and efficiency initiatives related to providers, including reporting and attestation of quality measures.

  • Knowledge of processes within the ambulatory practice/provider setting

  • Electronic Health Record experience (Athena, eClinicalWorks, Cerner, etc.)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, business or a related field; or 6 years of related experience.

  • 3 years’ experience in operations, in a relevant physician/ hospital environment.

  • 3 years’ experience working collegially with physicians

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Master’s Degree in healthcare, business or a related field
