Vontier Senior Analyst, Federal Tax in Saint Paul, Minnesota

This position offers the opportunity for a qualified candidate to broaden and enhance their experience and knowledge of tax accounting and Federal tax compliance. Reporting to the Tax Manager, Federal Reporting and Strategy, the Sr. Analyst – Federal Tax will assist in organizing and managing the Federal tax function. This person will work closely with the internal tax team, service providers and operating company finance contacts to support the data collection for tax reporting and compliance processes and to help facilitate audits, tax accounting and strategic tax planning initiatives.

The Federal tax team drives results through identifying opportunities and executing plans within Federal income tax and tax reporting. We build standard work around our processes and drive continuous improvement through automation projects to improve data collection. We also collaborate closely with the State and International tax teams, as we collect inputs for ASC740, FIN48, and other tax reporting requirements. This role is open to remote work based in the US, working on Eastern Time Zone.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely preparation of Federal income tax returns. Successful candidate should have experience reviewing, preparing and e-filing Federal tax returns.

• Support the preparation and payment of quarterly estimates.

• Research and document relevant tax laws in support of tax return positions and tax planning and quantify the tax impact.

• Assist with preparation of ASC740 and FIN48 reporting requirements for tax accounting.

• Document and administer internal control processes to ensure that SOX requirements are met.

• Develop a strong understanding of operating company businesses and develop relationships with their finance/tax resources.

• Implement continuous improvement of tax processes under Vontier Business Systems (VBS).

WHO YOU ARE

• 5+ years of corporate or public accounting tax experience in Federal tax issues as well as tax accounting ASC740.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting, Master’s Degree or CPA required.

• OneSource Tax Provision software and tax automation experience is required (experience with Alteryx, Power BI and comparable tools is highly recommended)

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

• Collaboration is a must. Desire and ability to provide coaching and mentoring to others to contribute to the continuous development and success of our team

• High level of demonstrated technical proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals

The base compensation range for this position is $84,500 to $120,000 per year. Your base salary will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
