Description

We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Editor based in New Jersey. The successful candidate will be tasked with editing and proofreading various types of content, including advertising, educational, training, and consumer manuscripts. This role is situated within the telecom provider industry and will require a meticulous eye for detail and strong fact-checking and proofreading skills.

Responsibilities:

• Edit and proofread advertising, educational, training, and consumer manuscripts for accuracy and clarity.

• Check content for correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style consistency.

• Ensure all content meets relevant standards, such as client/brand, AMA, FDA guidelines.

• Stay updated on FDA guidelines and apply them to all relevant content.

• Create and maintain editorial style guides for each assigned brand.

• Provide coverage for other brands when needed, ensuring consistency across all accounts.

• Fact-check referenced information before jobs are sent to client/regulatory for approval.

Requirements • Applicant must have a substantial background in the field of editing.

• Demonstrable fact-checking skills are essential.

• Proficiency in proofing is a necessary requirement.

• The ability to effectively coordinate and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed.

• Familiarity with various editing software and tools is desirable.

• A keen eye for detail and a critical mind.

• Creativity and a passionate interest in film and video editing.

• Patience and concentration, to stay focused throughout the editing process.

• The ability to listen to others and to work well as part of a team.

• A high level of self-motivation, commitment, and dedication.

• Organizational and time management skills.

• The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

• A deep understanding of the production process.

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly.

• The ability to cope well with pressure and maintain high standards during busy times.
